This microsite web design project had strict requirements to match existing brand guidelines established by Geek Squad, and to create a consistent experience for microsite website visitors and allow quick and easy access to software downloads, FAQ's, installation guides, contact information, and live on-page Chat capability within the microsite. We began this process by doing an informal audit of Geek Squad's website design, and other assets we were delivered at the start of the project, to determine the best elements to incorporate into this microsite web design project.
Microsite Web Design Elements
The primary goal of this microsite web design project was to allow for quick access to downloads and installation guides for PC, Mac, and Mobile users of the product, and match existing web design elements for the Geek Squad. The homepage of this microsite web design project features the Geek Squad logo prominently in the upper left, followed by the product offer. The colors used in the microsite design exactly match the Geek Squad brand colors, feature high-contrast font and callout box colors, as well as orange buttons and link colors over the callout boxes. A grid-based columnar layout was used to keep the content organized, and the high-contrast primary and secondary buttons throughout this microsite web design should help to improve conversion on these web site pages.

The large photo headers over the block navigational elements within the microsite web design make finding and clicking through to other microsite pages very easy and intuitive for website visitors. The navigation photos ...

The Velocraft Cycling mobile responsive web design project was a creative design project that we really enjoyed working on. The creative direction on this mobile responsive web design project were wide open for us to explore to create a clean and compelling vision for the brand. The Logo Design was already in place and well established, so our primary goal on this project was to create the mobile responsive website design for this client.
Mobile Responsive Web Design Process
Our mobile responsive web design process for this project had few requirements in place other than following the existing logo design elements and creating a visually pleasing website with clear information about Velocraft's products and services that was tailored for both computers and mobile browsers. After several internal design rounds exploring different creative website design concepts, we settled on a clean and open layout that pulled in custom graphics we created for the top edge of the page design behind the logo. The yellow, angular band brings in a real sense of motion and splash of color onto the mobile responsive web page design, and also helps set off the logo emblem adding depth to the page and a faux 3-d appearance on the site pages. The primary navigation utilized forward slashes as the dividers between the navigation items, which also ties in nicely with the angular band. A 12 column, grid-based layout was incorporated from the very beginning of the mobile responsive web design process, which allowed for rapid development after the ...

This business infographic design project was completed on an accelerated schedule to be used in social media channels and to promote a business report about Web Security threats. This business infographic design follows the client brand guidelines, but also extends the brand styles to create a modern and compelling visual infographic design that highlights the key data points requested by the client.
Infographic Design Process
For this infographic design project, the client outlined the desired data/content "panels", rough messaging for each section, and provided the primary numerical data to be used in this infographic design piece. Based on this data, and the primary headlines and sections of this infographic design, custom iconography and imagery was created and secured to create an impactful infographic design that conveys the keys sets of data the client was interested in communicating to readers.

The first infographic design panel content was location-based, so we incorporated a large digital map graphic as the background and located the data point over that graphic in a bold "callout" featuring bright colored fonts and country flags for each location. Just below this map infographic, five data segments are called out with an altered pie-chart style and large percentage numbers to draw the reader into the data. Using large numbers and interesting graphs for the data display really serves the readers well, as they are quickly able to understand the most important data presented in the associated report document.

Another important element in this infographic design is a small line element that follows the ...

This website redesign project for Webroot, a Broomfield, Colorado, Internet Security Company, was designed and launched as a part of a new business product offering in 2012. The scope of this project included website design for the entire business section of the corporate website, and included major design updates to help visually convey the modern, light, clean, and cutting edge characteristics of the new business product line.
Web Redesign Project Scope
The scope of this web design project was comprehensive, and really shifted the design style for the business-side of the corporate website. The fonts, navigation layout, and overall page layouts were updated as a part of the design process, as well as updated graphics and iconography throughout the business sections of the website. The primary goal for this redesign project was to effectively communicate the features and benefits of the new products in a visual, compelling, and easy to read manner. Our role in this project was strictly design and delivery of Photoshop (PSD) files to the development team, and from these various page designs, templates were created and ported into a custom Content Management System (CMS) by the development team for use on the site.
Design Features
The use of the corporate green throughout the design is subtle, but present in small details, borders, and section titles. Large font headlines in either light font weights, or all capital letters help define the content sections of the pages. This was designed off a 12-column grid layout with balanced gutters and overall spacing to ...

This website design project for OMNI, a Denver nonprofit social science agency that supports nonprofits, foundations and government agencies, was executed over the summer in several design phases to support a phased roll out of the final website design. The scope of this project included creating entirely new website designs to improve the overall online experience for potential OMNI clients, as well as highlight the importance and quality of the work that the organization does, in addition to overall brand recognition and improvements.
Website Design Creative
This Denver web design client was interested in having a clean, contemporary, and informational site designed with strong graphic call-outs and an organized layout to support the website content. They also specifically requested a strong, but subtle use of color throughout the site design, and large rotating banner design elements on the site home page. To meet these design requirements, we chose to incorporate a thin, 5-color design element in locations throughout the website design, most notably on the homepage banner top and bottom edges, as well as the top edge of the footer in all pages. These individual colors are also used throughout the design as link colors, horizontal breaks, and title colors to tie the design together. Due to the symmetry of the logo, we chose to center this logo on the page, with primary navigation on either side of the logo to create a unique, but balanced style for the top of the site pages. A web-friendly, san-serif font was also used for ...

Public Radio Capital, a national nonprofit based in Boulder, Colorado, that provides consulting services for financing public media in communities nationwide, engaged us to design & layout their 2011 annual report design. The goal of the annual report design was to incorporate professional photography, typography, layout, and design elements to create a compelling and professional annual report for the organization. The intended delivery of the final annual report design would be both online as an interactive web document, as well as physical printed reports for the organization.
Annual Report Design: Creative Process
During initial meetings and calls about this project, Public Radio Capital (PRC) had a strong desire for this report design to include large photos, good use of color throughout that matched the existing PRC brand, and a wide, side-by-side page layout to display facing pages in the online interactive document. Print considerations include the obvious use of full color, and full bleeds, as well as binding methods and final document preparation for production. Design elements chosen for the cover of the document include the PRC logo design, and a primary image of a radio & recording microphone, coupled with lots of color and texture while maintaining a light and crisp look. The cover also features a very limited amount of text to support the clean and concise report design, as well as an introduction to the main color pallet that will used throughout the report design.

As part of an ongoing business relationship with Webroot, a local security-solutions company based in Broomfield, Colorado, we translated recent competitive analysis data by Passmark Software into compelling web infographic designs to help communicate the effectiveness of their innovative products when compared to their competition. The previous presentation of this data on the company website utilized simple and hard to read graphs and charts, which were difficult to read, and did not effectively communicate how powerful and different these new products are. The goal for this web infographic design project was to simplify the presentation of the data within the web page design to help communicate the results in an easy to digest way.
Infographic Design Process
The primary desired outlet for the series of web infographics we created was the Webroot company website, but the infographics themselves were also utilized in several print marketing and sales materials. For this reason, we started our design process in Adobe Illustrator, and using the graphing and charting functionality we created the framework for the data-driven charts and graphs. The colors used in the graphics reflect general brand colors for the corresponding company products, and are consistent across the web infographic designs. After these initial charts were generated, they we extruded into 3D graphics with depth and shading, and several different chart styles were used to help illustrate the differences in the types of data being shown.

Web Design Creative Process
The primary goals of the web design project were discussed at length during our initial meeting with the Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation (EGSMF), in Lafayette, Co. These goals led directly into the creative design process to help communicate the nature & mission of the 2012 Good Sam Bike Jam Event, speak directly to their target audience, and convey the location of the event here in Lafayette, Colorado. Due to the short timeline for this web design site launch, one well-developed design concept was presented to EGSMF for consideration and review in the design process. The web design creative features a colorful header area with rolling fields, illustrative snow-covered rocky mountaintops, and bright blue sky to create depth on the page and to communicate the views riders can expect during the Bike Jam Ride in Lafayette. In the main content area of the site pages, headline fonts draw from colors in the logo, and an overall clean font-treatment and organized column layout on the website pages makes the site easy to read and use for ...

Website Re-Design Creative Process
After an initial kickoff meeting with Schacht at their Lafayette Colorado office location, it was decided that the new website design would use their existing logo, and draw inspiration from a well-produced video marketing piece that Schacht uses with great success to reach their clients. Several creative web design concepts were presented to Schacht for review and consideration in the initial phase of the project. After a primary design direction was decided, internal web page designs for product list pages, product detail pages, and wodd species pages were designed and presented to Schacht for final review. The chosen design features warm, wood-colored tones throughout the website, with large headline fonts and wood grained textures in the header area. Also prominent on the website homepage, is a large scrolling banner area that features the high quality finished products that Schacht delivers, as well as concise marketing messaging to communicate the elegance and quality of their products and work.

Website Design Process
When starting this website redesign project with Boulder Logic, we were provided wire frames for the new site that were created by ClixoConversion.com. With the site wire frames and information architecture in place, we were able to quickly deliver an initial round of two different creative website design options for the Boulder Logic home page, as well as one interior web page. After collecting and incorporating feedback on these design options, a single design direction was chosen, and a total of six page templates were created in that design style following the information structure outlined in the website wire frames. Another round of creative revisions allowed Boulder Logic to incorporate their final comments and changes into the new website design, and the final design documents were completed and delivered to Boulder Logic along with all fonts, icons, images, and ...
